About Matt Roehr
Born in Frankfurt/Germany.
- Matt played guitar with different bands around Frankfurt from the age of thirteen and joined the German band "Boehse Onkelz" at the age of seventeen.
- In 25 years he wrote and co-wrote more than 100 songs and recorded more than twenty albums and several live videos and DVDs with the band.
- He has toured with many major bands including the Rolling Stones, Motorhead, Rose Tattoo, Machine Head or Saxon, just to mention a few.
- In 2006 Matt released his book "Meine letzten 48 Stunden mit den Boehsen Onkelz" ("My last 48 hours with the Boehse Onkelz") after the band split up and after the farewell concert in front of 130.000 fans at the Lausitzring Speedway near Dresden/Germany. The book became a major success and was Number 1 at the Amazon charts in Germany.
- In the summer of 2006 Matt, together with German top guitar luthier Rainer Tausch, designed his first signature guitar model series.
- In April 2007 Matt started the recordings for his first solo album "BARRA DA TIJUCA", which took him four months through studios in Brazil (Rio de Janeiro) and the U.S. (Miami, New York). He joined forces with legendary rock singer Charlie Huhn (Ted Nugent, Humple Pie, Gary Moore, Foghat) and Brazilian and German top musicians. The album was released in Europe in October 2007 by GonzomusicRecordingCo (GRC).
- The second album "UHAD2BTHERE! - Live Bootleg Vol. 1" was recorded on the 2008 German tour and was released in Europe in April 2008 by GonzomusicRecordingCo (GRC).
- The third album "OUT OF THE GREAT DEPRESSION" was recorded at Chaton Studios in Phoenix/Arizona in April 2009. The album will be released in Europe in March 2010 by EDEL RECORDS.
- His fourth album, BLITZ & DONNER, his first one in german, will be released in August 2011. The single "FREIHEIT" (english version: "ROCK YOUR LIBERTY") will be released mid July. The album was recorded in April 2011 at the Droehnwerk studios together with Ferdy Doernberg and Michael Ehré.
